4/15/2007 Rob: Thanks to those who wrote and provided feedback! Sorry we haven't responded directly, but some health issues within both of our families have been taking up most of our attention this week. We were able to get some pictures of SnowCrash in the dryer yesterday, which is good since today it's far too dark to get any decent sun-lit pictures. He stayed there for a few minutes until managing to jump out nearly straight down, and bound off of the lip of the washing machine that sticks out just a few inches. Tania has pointed out to me that he's a tad pudgy, but he still seems quite in control of however many pounds of pure awesome kitty he is now.
The picture of Auron are of him next to his shell that he shed a few days ago. This is the second shell he's shed since we got him a few months back. He's been growing back an antennae and claw that he'd lost in a fight to another crayfish in the pet store, and they're both nearly half the size of those on his other side. We had been worried that he was sick since he was hanging around inside his log for weeks, but apparently that's what he does before he sheds and for a few days afterwards. Now he's quite active, hanging out with his former self and munching on it. It's strange to see him eat his previous shell, but apparently that's what crayfish do.
