2/25/2006 Rob: I had a few other pictures and other ideas for a comic today, but they were all tossed when I saw the snow. I held SnowCrash up to the window for the last 3 shots and had my wife take them, and the first three were of him sitting on my desk and looking out the window on his own. He's naturally very curious, so it's funny to me even if I can capture a little of how he truly acts in this comic. Unfortunately he tends to mug for the camera and try to sniff, whack, or bite it when he notices I'm taking his picture. I can't count the number of blurred shots I have of him leaping away to do mischief beyond the camera's reach.
He loves sitting on my desk next to my laptop and looking out the window. He tends to follow me around and react to me on an almost-human level at times. Yesterday he was sitting on top of the dryer in the laundry room (his and Kosette's sleeping, eating, and litter area) yowling at me to feed him. I yelled across the hall from my office that he should quiet down since I had just fed him, and come visit me in my office. He promptly jumped down, raced into my office, jumped onto my desk, and walked across my laptop to sit in front of the window.
A moment later my laptop shut down. As he smugly continued to stare out the window and ignore me, I realized that he had stepped on the power button again. At first I thought it was an accident, but it's happend three times in the two months since I've gotten my laptop. I yell at him every time he steps across the keyboard, and he now manages to avoid all of the keys except the power button, right at the base of the screen and just one centimeter across. I woke up this morning to find him laying on his back, stretched out upside-down between Tania and I, and snoring quite happily. I'm not a crazy cat person, despite the comics you may read weekly to the contrary. I don't think SnowCrash is a human, but sometimes I wonder if he thinks he is.
