1/28/2007 Rob: Kosette actually played with Tania for the first time today. Tania was sitting on the couch under a blanket, helping me play Final Fantasy XII by reading a strategy guide we were given at Christmas. She moved her hand under the blanket, and Kosette came racing up and smacked at it with her paw -- claws retracted. Now usually Kosette will swipe at people when they annoy her, or at catnip because she loves her precious, but always with claws fully extended. She was actually playing with Tania for about ten minutes before she became tired of racing her fat behind across the room and back. It took Sugar about a year and a half to learn to play (and not just run in terror when I smacked her tail or chased her), and it looks like Stupid-Fat herself has finally reached that point.
Our crawfish Auron is doing quite well. We're fairly sure he is, after all, male, and that the alleged eggs that appeared in the tank were some form of algae. He must have eaten them, so the world may never know his true gender. He's quite an active little guy, and manages to get into a small potted plant submerged in his tank. He likes to hang suspended upside-down from it, eating it. His claw is almost fully regrown, and he's pretty feisty.
