12/31/2006 Rob: Sorry about the lack of comic and update last week, but holiday travel has worn us out. We returned to find the 1 betta and 3 corie catfish in our 10 gallon tank had met their demise due to unknown causes in our absence. Understandably (I don't want to disclose just how many fish we've had over the past few years) we decided to try something more durable - crayfish!
So now we have Auron, the friendly crustacean who is currently missing an antennae and claw due to a recent pet store battle with another of his kind. He seems fairly interesting so far, spending all his time scuttling about the perimeter of his tank, plotting his escape. Unless he learns to scale the glass, we should be safe. Only SnowCrash has noticed him thus far (and attempted to bat at him through the glass), but I'm sure Kosette will indeed be terrified when she does manage to spy him. It took her months to notice the betta fish, so chances are slim it will be anytime soon. Happy New Year and a belated Merry Christmas to you!
