11/26/2006 Rob: I forgot to make some reference to Kosette not being our Thanksgiving turkey this year. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you're probably better off for it, but it's an old joke from a comic around Thanksgiving of last year. Regardless, the shot of Sugar's irritated and disgraced look when I had the Mr. Yellow toy hug her was priceless. You think I do this comic for your amusement, but really I just like to irritate cats. Sugar gets irritated a lot.
SnowCrash continues to provide me with new limits to test his trust. He's already let me pick him up upside-down for awhile, and doesn't mind in the least, just hangs there looking around curiously. I also pick him up and cradle him in my arms, with him lying on his back, and he remains likewise apathetic, and often even begins to purr. I yell 'flying kitty!' and toss him at a nearby couch, and he just flies through the air, landing on all fours, and then looks back at me, completely nonplussed.
Now I have invented a new sport - cat sliding. SnowCrash loves to stretch out on his back in our hallway and roll around, trying to get attention. Since we have bamboo-flooring throughout our house, we have no lack of slick surfaces. Recently while petting SnowCrash on his back, I put a hand to his chest and one to his rear and slid him along the floor for about two feet. He skidded to a stop and looked back at me, as usual, unimpressed. I tried spinning him on his back and he also didn't mind at all. I'm beginning to wonder if there's anything in life that he doesn't view as a game, but if he's that happy letting me perform tricks with him in front of guests, I'm not going to stop him. Man, that cat is really weird.
