11/12/2006 Rob: Yes, he did just walk by a petrified cat. Tania liked that bird bath thingie and made me buy it for her on our belated honeymoon about a year or so ago. It's a pain to keep full of water, since it holds so little, but we've occasionally seen SnowCrash and Kosette eyeing the birds that visit it when it is full in good weather. SnowCrash didn't seem at all interested in it, so unfortunately I couldn't get a better shot of him walking near it and had to adjust the dialogue accordingly (as if he were about to do a double-take).
This week was pretty close in terms of getting enough pictures to do a comic about SnowCrash's 'plan'. Yesterday the weather was great and we took SnowCrash and Kosette (and Sugar, not shown here) out for walks. Unfortunately my camera batteries died shortly after getting outside, so I had to use almost all of the few pictures I was able to take. Today the weather is terrible (sunny in the 70's to rainy in the 60's overnight... gotta love Maryland 'winters') and the lighting so poor that I couldn't get a decent shot if I tried.
Funny thing about 'walking' Kosette... she refuses to let us leash her. she squealed herself silly and tossed herself around on the floor inside the one time I managed to get just her harness on. We just have to let her walk freely outside when we take out SnowCrash and Sugar and she wants to go out as well. It's not as though Kosette moves very fast or very far... she mainly just munches grass by the steps, then promptly throws it up. She's such an intelligent party animal. SnowCrash just hears the words 'outside' or 'go out' and flops over onto the floor, purring and awaiting his harness. He's a very odd cat indeed. Sugar tolerates her leash, but she always seems worried that she's going to the vet, since she's been a few times for shots, bloodwork, and getting her teeth cleaned.
